Brad's JoGLErs Day 1
2012-04-09 19:11:00
Brads JoGLE team is made up of Paul and Mark riding the 1000 miles on monkey bikes!!
With Nicola, Josh, Michelle, John, Lou and Spencer making up the support crew.
Thursday saw our intrepid adventurers heading North for John o Groats, a long trip but giving our boys a taster of what is to come. There was a bit of a panic around Inverness when Mark realised he had left his keys in his van back in Nottingham!!

Day 1 saw 53 riders of various machines line up to start this epic journey at 8.00am in the rain.
There were a few breakdowns during the day that saw our guys and girls in the saddle for 6/7 hours in total to cover the first stage . There was even the opportunity for an impromptu photo call in front of Dunrobbin Castle.
150 miles later Paul and Mark pulled into the first overnight campsite at Borlum on the shore of Loch Ness. They were welcomed with a bowl of warm soup from the army catering facilities which had been set up earlier by the support teams and later that night there was a huge BBQ with 700 worth of food donated from Tescos.
There is a wonderful atmosphere and camaraderie at camp and on the road with people waving, pipping their horns in support. One of the tents was even converted into a makeshift garage where running repairs and even rebuilds we're carried out well into the night to get the bikes ready for tomorrow's next gruelling stage............
Further updates to come during the week
